You can also take part in another event during this journey – the Ogoh-Ogoh ceremony, held the day before the Balinese New Year, where we will parade through the streets of the capital Denpasar alongside the locals, symbolically casting out everything old and charging ourselves with the energy of a new beginning. This ritual lets you connect with the energy of the island and its people and release negative emotions, toxic beliefs and heavy circumstances. We will be guests at the home of the chairman of tourism in Bali. This will be a true immersion in Bali's ancient rituals and spirituality, one that leaves unforgettable memories.

Colourful Balinese ceremonies are part of daily life in the town, and some of Bali’s most beautiful temples peek out from around every corner. The local art scene thrives. From ceramics to silverware and hand-woven textiles, this is your place for high-quality souvenirs. Ubud is also Bali’s number one destination for yoga and wellness.
Pemuteran lies on the northern shore of western Bali. This quiet refuge far from civilisation has grown steadily more popular in recent years. Resort hotels are opening along the shore, and the beach is covered in fine dark sand. Pemuteran is one of the best places in Bali for diving and snorkelling. Just off the coast of Pemuteran lies Menjangan island, an ideal spot for snorkelling and fun.

Your guide will meet you and accompany you to the hotel in Sanur. Check-in at the hotel Puri Santrian 5*. Set on the island’s east coast, Sanur will surprise you with its exotic character and colour. Here, in the calm of our 5-star resort, we will have the good fortune to welcome the Balinese New Year.
If we have time before the afternoon ceremony, we will go and choose our own sarong – the traditional local garment that is required when visiting any temple in Bali. We will witness the locals preparing for the New Year and observe the Melasti, procession, which takes place before the Day of Silence (Nyepi).
In the late afternoon we head to the centre of Denpasar, where we will be guests in a typical Balinese house belonging to the chairman of tourism in Bali. There we will have the remarkable chance to enjoy dinner and join the most exciting Balinese ritual of all – OGOH-OGOH. Together with the locals we will parade the huge effigies built by each community, which are finally burned in ritual as a symbol of cleansing away the old and the bad. The festivities often continue all night, marking the symbolic new beginning.
The next day is the first of the New Year – Nyepi, the day of complete silence and contemplation.

Nyepi day: The Balinese New Year – the day the island
holds its breath
Being in Bali during the New Year is an experience that changes the rhythm of your heart. This is an event that truly deserves to be felt! While we usually celebrate loudly, in Bali the New Year is greeted in complete silence, inner contemplation and reverence for the planet and the whole universe. Everything seems to hush in anticipation of the New, and even time stands still. A deep silence descends, carrying a sense of sacredness and respect that merges with the mystery of this ancient land.
After festivities and ceremonies lasting day and night, the whole island falls quiet. Everything is closed. Tradition holds that this is how evil spirits are deceived – they must believe the island is deserted. Three million Balinese and as many tourists seem to vanish. No people are seen on the streets, not a sound is heard. Shops and restaurants close, the airport suspends operations, even internet access is restricted. Travel by vehicle or on foot is forbidden, household electricity is switched off and no noise is permitted. Only emergency services are allowed to move.
During the Balinese New Year we will be able to move around within the hotel, but not outside or on the beach. First-class hotels such as ours usually offer their guests various activities, as they are not obliged to observe local traditions strictly. It is recommended, however, that the day be devoted to silence, meditation, personal reflection and, if possible, fasting. This is an exceptionally powerful moment for setting a new beginning, since the Balinese New Year always falls on a new moon!
In the evening, as the lights go out, the whole island falls silent in expectation of the magic. Night descends slowly, without a single artificial light, and the sky opens up with millions of stars. The Milky Way shines so clearly it feels close enough to touch.
This is the perfect time to give ourselves something special – to sit by the pool, gaze at the sky and feel our soul being cleansed along with the whole island. If you wish, we can create our own small ritual: speaking our wishes and intentions beneath that incredible starry sky, at a moment when the entire universe hears us and helps bring them into being.

After breakfast we leave our hotel in Sanur and head for Ubud. It is time to see more of Bali.
Ubud is the heart of Bali, the island’s cultural capital and a favourite with every visitor, where cultural events around art, music, dance and literature live a life of their own. This is the Mecca of the arts and of spirituality. You can meet both well-known artists and fascinating spiritual teachers, brimming with wisdom and healing people’s souls.
We will settle into the best rooms of our hotel, the Green Field and in the early afternoon we will explore everything happening here.
We begin with a visit to the colourful and famous market of Ubud. We will immerse ourselves in the authentic atmosphere of Ubud, vivid streets full of charming little shops, its celebrated cafés, massage studios and more besides… We will look at the best places to eat, as well as the yoga and dance centres.
We will have lunch at one of the best-known healthy organic vegetarian restaurants. In Ubud is home to the Monkey Forest Monkey Forest – which, besides boisterous monkeys, has luxuriant vegetation. We will show it to you, and in free time everyone can visit it andspend a pleasant few hours in this park.
We then travel on to sacred places closed to tourists, dine at the island’s most magnificent restaurant, and in the evening, if you wish, we can meet one of Bali’s most renowned and revered teachers. He uses various energy techniques to support the physical, mental and spiritual body. Three methods are used: bayu (breath), sabda (mantra japa) and idep (the mind).
This method is a complete spiritual practice that can take you from deep relaxation to spiritual illumination. Along the way it cultivates health, a strong mind and spiritual awareness. It releases energy blocked by negative physical, mental and emotional patterns and attitudes, transforming and channelling it towards higher consciousness and the realisation of human potential.
He will explain the Balinese understanding of energy, we will be able to talk and ask questions, and those who wish may take part in a sacred purification.
Overnight in Ubud
After breakfast we will be collected from the hotel for our exceptional full-day excursion.
We start with a short tour of UBUD, the centre of the arts. We will visit one of the finest galleries to feel the pulse and elegance of Bali, and optionally we will also visit a wood-carving. The journey continues to a COFFEE plantation, where we can taste every kind of coffee and tea in Bali, as well as seeing many of the herbs and plants in their natural setting – vanilla, cocoa, exotic fruits and teas. We will try the world’s most famous and most expensive Luwak Coffee.
We then head for the foot of Mount Batur, where we will take in its grandeur over lunch. The view of Batur stays with you forever – the volcano rises majestically above the azure lake, and the clouds seem to dance around its summit. We will eat on a panoramic terrace overlooking this natural masterpiece, enjoying traditional Balinese cuisine and the fresh mountain air.
Although it is an active volcano, Batur is calm and safe to observe. Its last eruption was in 2000 – small and posing no danger to the population. Today it is a symbol of strength, renewal and the eternal cycle of life – the fire that transforms and gives birth to a new beginning.

We will finish with a visit to the oldest and most revered temple in Bali – the temple of the Mother Goddess. The most important and most sacred Hindu temple is the Besakih complex, /Pura Besakih/ known as „The Mother Temple” – a complex of 23 temples, the supreme symbol of the religious unity of Bali. For the Balinese, worshipping there is what a pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulchre is for us. It was built near the volcano on the slopes of Mount Agung (3 031 m). The highest peak of Bali and considered a sacred mountain – home of the gods.
Locals believe Shiva dwells here, which is why every temple on the island is oriented towards this peak. All the temples follow a single axis ending at the main temple on the summit. During the great eruption of 1964 the lava appeared to flow around the temple, which is taken as proof that the gods protect the place.
Each level corresponds to a chakra, and we will climb to the highest level, above the 7th chakra – the temple of the Sun – where we will perform a ritual as the Balinese do, with offerings to the gods. We will be accompanied by one of the temple’s high priests, who will explain everything and lead the rituals. He is also a healer. We will have the chance to meditate and to hear the silence…
Overnight in Ubud
Breakfast. Free time to relax and choose your own activities. After the intense programme of recent days, there is the chance to rest by the pool. This is the day we can also try one of the many activities Bali offers:
*Rafting or an elephant ride. Each comes as a package with lunch. Rafting is an exceptionally energising, emotional experience
*Another thrilling option is an early-morning climb of Mount Batur to witness the magic of sunrise. Departure is at 02:00 so that you reach the summit at dawn and can take in an incredible view of the island and the vast lake spreading below the volcano, with hot springs you can bathe in after the climb.
*Time for rest, spa, massages and a stroll through Ubud.
*A visit to the zoo, safari park, orchid garden or bird park….
We need to know your preferences so that we can fit them into the programme and arrange them.
For the afternoon our suggestion is that we all go to an amazing complex with pools on 3 terraces overlooking stunning rice gardens. Caves, a zip line, the famous Bali Swing – the Balinese swings; you can hire dresses and take the most beautiful photos. We will have dinner there too, with an incredible view.

On the same day there is the option of visiting THE WATER PRIESTESS OF BALI (High Priestess of Hindu Dharma – Ida Resi Alit Ida Resi Alit. The youngest High Priestess in Bali. Not by chance… The rituals she performs are sacred and are called “Blessing” – blessing, meditation with singing bowls… mantra chanting accompanied by a water ritual and a shower of flowers.
We will tell you her story and you will feel it for yourself. The experience is very powerful and will leave an unforgettable mark on you.
Or WE MAY VISIT A WONDERFUL LOCAL FAMILY OF A HIGH PRIEST in their sacred space – an ashram – and take part in a ritual of blessing and healing. The people and places we can take you to are unique: healers of bodies and souls, servants of the spirit who have proved their gifts many times over. And we really do know the very best.

Overnight in Ubud
Breakfast. Free time to relax until midday. We can rest by the hotel pool, visit the Monkey Forest emblematic of Ubud, or have a massage.
After lunch we begin another special TOUR of the island:
We will visit places sacred to the Balinese. We will take you to an ancient local water temple of the Holy Water, unknown to tourists. The Balinese believe the sacred spring water holds a magical power – the miracle of healing, of body and soul! It is a place of cleansing from the bad influences in life. The water flowing from the spouts comes directly from this temple’s springs and is believed to remove all kinds of ailments, including adverse energetic influences in a person’s life. We will do it as the locals do, with the proper ritual.
We will visit a fascinating power place with a centuries-old tree that will make an impression on you!
Bali is a cocoa producer. We will tour a chocolate factory and taste the varieties of chocolate made on site.
We will visit a local healer who performs a remarkable cleansing of the physical body – if you wish, of course. Access to him is generally very difficult, but he always responds to our requests. He treats essentially everything on the physical level and gives energy massages.
After breakfast we depart for Pemuteran on Bali’s northern shore, where we will stay in a heavenly spot – one of the finest hotels on the island. We will be right on the ocean, with 11 mountains, hot springs and intriguing temples behind us.
On the way north we will stop at one of Bali’s most magical places – Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, the temple of Danu, goddess of water and fertility. Built in the 17th century on the shore of the mountain lake Beratan, the temple appears to float on the water, especially in the morning mist.
The complex consists of five temples and several shrines set in three courtyards symbolising the three levels of the world – earthly, spiritual and heavenly. Here Buddhist and Hindu symbols coexist in complete harmony – evidence of the island’s tolerance and synthesis of beliefs.
The view of the lake, the mountains and the temple’s elegant pagoda is one of the most photographed in Bali. We will immerse ourselves in this calm, almost mystical place where the water reflects the sky and time seems to stop.

Pemuteran – where the mountains meet the ocean
Four nights await us in one of the most beautiful and peaceful corners of Bali – a place where the mountains gently embrace the ocean. We will stay in spacious villas with private pools, with the ocean itself just a few steps away.

Menjangan – the sacred island of deer and coral
Menjangan is a small, uninhabited and sacred island within West Bali National Park, revered by locals as a holy place. Its name means “island of deer” – and indeed we will see herds of wild deer and fawns wandering freely, unafraid of people.
The island is dotted with ancient temples where locals pray and perform rituals – a place with a distinctive, sacred energy.
Menjangan is a true paradise for ocean lovers – the best place for snorkelling and diving in Bali. Colourful coral gardens, tropical fish, starfish and shimmering shoals turn every dip into a magical walk through an underwater world. With a little luck we will also meet sea turtles.

Our days will end romantically – under a starry sky, with the sound of the waves and a glass of wine in hand.
On one of the evenings we will have a special dinner served on banana leaves with live music – and we will challenge you to try it “the Balinese way”, eating with your hands.
